BC Materials

BC Materials recovers excavated soil from construction sites. This soil is tested on its pollution level by an independent laboratory in accordance with the strictest Belgian standards. Only undisturbed and unpolluted soil is used by BC Materials.

BC Materials then mixes the different soils from the different sites and geological layers to obtain a reformulation (the “recipe”) for
durable and high-performance building materials. BC Materials produces a stock of materials in their production hall in Brussels. They can also work directly on the construction site, thanks to their mobile and flexible production unit. In this way, BC Materials’ logistics and infrastructure always remain close to the resources: transport is therefore reduced to a strict minimum.

BC Materials offers 3 types of products: clay bricks “Brickette”, clay plaster “Brusseleir” and adobe clay “Kastar”. In addition, BC Materials offers a workshop service and training courses to familiarise (future) field workers with their materials.

Societal impact
BC Materials’ activity contributes to objectives 9 “Industry, innovation and infrastructure”, 11 “Sustainable cities and communities” and 12 “Responsible consumption and production” of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
