Vin du Pays de Herve is a cooperative with a social purpose created in 2017. It specializes in the production and commercialization of two types of organic products from the Herve region: white wine and sparkling wine. It stands out for its innovative approach to viticulture and winemaking.
The wines offered are the result of organic farming, requiring adapted viticultural methods such as mechanized weeding and the selection of resistant grape varieties.
This project is part of a global approach to promoting Walloon know-how in gastronomy and agriculture. It is founded on strong values such as respect for the environment and individuals, the constant quest for quality, transparency and the commitment of all stakeholders to a long-term vision.
To date, over 800 cooperative members have joined the adventure, helping to raise over 1,000,000 euros. Thanks to these funds, the cooperative has been able to plant 8 hectares of vineyards, i.e. 38,000 vines spread over 6 plots, and build a winery dedicated to winemaking and wine conservation.
The first plantings began in 2018, and the first harvests took place in 2020. Since then, the cooperative has also carried out harvests in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
