I INVEST IN THE CITIZENFUND

Project selection process and criteria

RATHER THAN TARGETING SPECIFIC SECTORS OF ACTIVITY, WE ACCOMPANY AND SUPPORT ENTREPRENEURIAL PROJECTS WITH A SOCIETAL IMPACT, REGARDLESS OF THEIR TYPE OF ACTIVITY.

Our selection process is unique. After a meeting with the Citizenfund’s operational team, the entrepreneur is introduced to our Selection Committee. The Selection Committee is made up of 2 elected cooperators, 2 experts according to the themes, and 1 co-founder of the Citizenfund. The Committee evaluates the entrepreneur’s project according to the following criteria:

THE FINALITY

Does the project meet at least one of the UN sustainable development goals?

THE FUNCTIONING

Is the way in which the project leader and his team wish to achieve their objective compatible with the Citizenfund’s values (governance, profit distribution, etc.)?

THE TEAM’S INVESTMENT

Do the project leader and his team seem sufficiently invested in their project?

THE CAPACITY TO CARRY OUT THE PROJECT

Do the project leader and his/her team have the capacity to lead the project to success?

THE FINANCIAL PLAN

Is the business model of the project or will it be at least self-supporting?

If the Selection Committee validates these aspects, the entrepreneur will meet all the cooperators-investors during a validation session. The latter will then vote online for 10 days for or against the funding of the project by the Citizenfund. The last word therefore always goes to the cooperators-investors.
The aim of Citizenfund is to help a project at the critical moment when it is mature in its conception and when funding is essential for its implementation. This assistance can take the form of an equity investment or a loan.
For all successful fundraising, Citizenfund charges an application fee of 5% of the amount raised.

TO DEFINE AND MEASURE THE IMPACT OF THE SOCIAL ENTERPRISES FINANCED, THE CITIZENFUND IS USING THE MODEL OF THE 17 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG) OF THE UNITED NATIONS.

The SDGs are divided into 169 targets that are common to all countries involved. They meet the general objectives of eradicating poverty in all its forms and in all countries, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all.
